Our Story
As a Canadian tax and accounting practice, we watched small business owners struggle with the same problems again and again: payroll software that cost too much, bookkeeping tools built for accountants instead of owners, and a patchwork of apps that never quite talked to each other. Too many businesses were paying too much for tools that made their lives harder, not easier.
So we built the tool we wished they had. ABM Books brings payroll, bookkeeping, invoicing, expenses, time tracking, and reporting into one simple platform, designed for people who don’t have an accounting background and priced so any business can start for free. Built by accountants, made for Canadian small business, and shaped by the real challenges we see our clients face.

My path into finance started at fifteen in Eritrea, helping the accountant at my parents' transportation company. By sixteen I was keeping the books myself. After moving to Canada and earning my CMA and CPA, I worked with two established firms and saw a clear gap: hardworking business owners needed simpler, more affordable financial tools. So I founded my own practice in Winnipeg, now expanded to Calgary, and built two platforms to serve our clients, Taxanywhere for personal tax filing, and ABM Books for business bookkeeping, payroll, invoicing, and expenses in one place. Our mission is simple: to give small businesses financial clarity, keep their records clean, and stand beside them as a trusted ally as they grow.
